Story Time
It’s only been two weeks since our last conversation but a lot has happened!
Let me tell you a story about a sore bottom, a broken bone and a 90’s movie!
One day, just two weeks ago, we were heading out for the twins high school interview (yes the twins go to high school next year and no… I am not coping with how old they are… or by extension how old WE are.) But alas they were excited! We were excited! We were running late! It had rained overnight and the stairs outside our house were slippery… (can you guess what happened next? This is the part about the sore bottom) Just as the most ironic words of “Hey Jo be carful coming down the stairs, they are a bit slippery.” came out of my mouth I slipped on the extremely hard concrete stairs and landed on my backside. The twins aced their interview and over the next week my bottom turned all kinds of different shades of purple.
8 days later we get a phone call from the girls current primary school… (this is the part with the broken bone) The lovely office lady said, “Just letting you know, Phe has fallen over on the oval and we have a ice pack on her wrist.” I was thinking that’s fine give her some Panadol and send her on her way… But no she then said, “We need you to come get her right now and take her to the hospital.”
Multiple x-rays, a plaster cast, laughing Gas (that Simon was very tempted to try) later and she has a very very broken bone! The left radius near the wrist to be exact.
While we are still recovering, our fortnight ends with the unexpected enjoyment of the 1995 film Jumanji! The twins had yet to see it and Simon and I haven’t watched it since we were children. We were sceptical whether or not it would still be good! But we were all pleasantly surprised and entertained!
I hope your past two weeks has had a lot less broken bones than ours!
Good bye for now…

Have fun
